Jotaid features a professional source-code Markdown editor with real-time syntax highlighting and a separate preview — you write in plain Markdown and see it come to life as you type.

Edit & Preview

• Edit mode: Write with live highlighting — headings, bold, links, and code blocks are color-coded as you type
• Preview: See the fully rendered output. Toggle a fast preview with ⌃⇧P, or switch the preview tab with ⌘E

Supported Syntax

Jotaid supports standard CommonMark plus useful extensions:

• Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough
• Ordered and unordered lists
• Code blocks with language highlighting
• Tables
• Block quotes
• Images and links
• [[ ]] wiki-style backlinks with hover preview

Rich Content

• Math: Write LaTeX formulas (rendered with KaTeX), inline or as blocks
• Diagrams: Embed Mermaid diagrams in fenced code blocks
• Images: Paste images directly into a note — they're saved as attachments

Themes

The editor ships with three built-in themes that apply to both editing and preview, and switch instantly:

• Modern Light — clean, cool-gray light theme (default)
• Paper — warm, cream-toned light theme
• One Dark — easy on the eyes for long sessions

Accessibility

Text scales with the system Dynamic Type setting, so you can size the editor to whatever's comfortable to read.
